SupportCALL ICT Solutions has been delivering enterprise ICT services for over 30 years. Maree-DB is our defining product — built to replace the database sprawl that costs organisations millions and delivers less than one sovereign binary.

Our Mission

Replace database sprawl with one sovereign binary. Every application deserves a database that is fast, secure, verifiable, and entirely under the control of the organisation that runs it — no cloud dependencies, no telemetry, no licence audits, no vendor lock-in.

SupportCALL ICT Solutions

Founded in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. Thirty-plus years building and supporting ICT infrastructure for businesses across Australia and South Africa. We understand what it means to run critical systems with finite resources and zero tolerance for failure.

Maree-DB is not a side project. It is the culmination of decades of operational experience — understanding what enterprise databases cost, where they fail, and what a better alternative looks like from the inside.

Our work is entirely self-funded. No external investors. No pressure to compromise the product for short-term growth. Every decision is made in the interests of the engineers and organisations who use the software.

David H. Maree

CEO & Architect — SupportCALL ICT Solutions

David has spent over 30 years building and managing enterprise ICT infrastructure across two continents. He has direct experience with the costs, limitations, and operational pain of every major database platform.

Maree-DB began as a question: what would a database look like if it was designed from first principles for the real-world constraints of modern organisations — not for the pricing models of legacy vendors? The answer is a single Rust binary with no dependencies, no telemetry, and no compromises.

David leads architecture, product direction, and IP strategy. Every architectural decision in Maree-DB reflects operational experience: the database does what it says, does not call home, and can be verified by the people who run it.

Our Products

Two database products, a DNS service, and the ICT services business that funds them all.

Maree-DB

Rust · Enterprise · This product

A unified multi-model database in Rust. Eight data models, five wire protocols, Byzantine fault tolerant clustering, post-quantum cryptography, sovereign binary. Designed for stock exchange performance and military-grade security. IoT to planetary scale.

AbsoluteDB

C · Embedded · Sibling product

A lightweight embedded database written in C. Built for constrained environments where even a Rust binary is too large. Key-value store with write-ahead log, ACID transactions, and zero external dependencies. The embedded companion to Maree-DB.

WANIP.io

DNS · Infrastructure

Dynamic DNS and IP management for networks with variable public IP addresses. Used by small businesses and remote sites across Australia to maintain reliable remote access without static IP addresses.

SupportCALL ICT

Services · Australia & South Africa

Enterprise ICT consulting, infrastructure deployment, helpdesk services, and managed IT support. Thirty-plus years of experience supporting businesses from single-site SMEs to multi-location enterprises.

Timeline

From concept to production-ready software.

Pre-2024

Concept & Prior Art

30 years of operational experience with enterprise databases — Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis — identifying the costs, failures, and limitations that would define what Maree-DB needed to solve.

2024

Architecture & Core Engine

Rust workspace established. Core storage engine, WAL, MVCC, B+Tree, LSM-Tree, and SQL parser written from first principles. First wire protocol (PostgreSQL) implemented. Zero external runtime dependencies from day one.

2025

Multi-Model & Multi-Protocol

Vector, graph, time-series, columnar, spatial, and KV data models added. MySQL, SQL Server, and Redis wire protocols implemented. TamperLock cryptographic integrity chain. Fortress Lock autonomous security. 34 patents filed.

2026 — v1.0

Production Release

5,574+ tests passing. Zero compiler warnings. Byzantine fault tolerant clustering. Post-quantum cryptography. PHOENIX self-resurrection. Self-verification tool. Air-gapped deployment. Enterprise licence programme launched.

Roadmap — v2.0

Managed Cloud & Global Distribution

Maree-DB Cloud: a managed hosted offering for organisations that want the sovereign binary experience without on-premises infrastructure. Global multi-region active-active, GPU acceleration, and expanded AI agent capabilities.

Intellectual Property

Maree-DB is a fully sovereign product. Every line of code, every algorithm, every architectural innovation is original work owned entirely by SupportCALL ICT Solutions and David H. Maree.
