These Terms cover two distinct things: (1) use of the Maree-DB software, governed by the Business Source Licence 1.1 in Part A; and (2) use of this website (mareedb.com), governed by the Website Terms in Part B. If you are deploying the software, Part A is what matters most.

Additional Use Grant: You may use the Licensed Work for any non-production purpose, and for production use on a single node with fewer than 3 concurrent connections, at no charge. All other production use requires a Commercial Licence.
Change Date: Four years from the release date of each specific version.
Change Licence: Apache Licence, Version 2.0
The complete BSL 1.1 text is distributed with the software in the file LICENSE. On the Change Date for each version, that version converts automatically to Apache 2.0.
Production use beyond the Additional Use Grant requires a Commercial Licence. Available tiers:

Licence keys are issued by SupportCALL ICT Solutions and may be activated online, by phone, or air-gapped. See the Download page for activation instructions.
Regardless of licence tier, you may not:
Maree-DB is a sovereign binary. Data you store in Maree-DB belongs entirely to you. SupportCALL ICT Solutions has no access to your data, no ability to access it remotely, and no contractual right to it. The software contains no telemetry, no phone-home mechanisms, and no ongoing remote activation requirements after initial licence validation. This is a technical fact verifiable by reading the source code.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL SUPPORTCALL ICT SOLUTIONS OR DAVID H. MAREE BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY — WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE — ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.
Enterprise licence holders may negotiate specific SLA and warranty terms as part of their Enterprise agreement. Such terms, if agreed in writing, supersede this disclaimer for the named customer.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SupportCALL ICT Solutions and David H. Maree's total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the software or these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the applicable licence in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
In no event shall either party be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
By accessing mareedb.com or supportcall.com.au (the "Sites"), you agree to these Website Terms. The Sites are operated by SupportCALL ICT Solutions, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. They provide information about the Maree-DB product, licence purchasing, and technical documentation.
All content on the Sites — including text, graphics, logos, icons, documentation, and code samples — is the property of SupportCALL ICT Solutions or David H. Maree and is protected by Australian and international copyright law.
You may link to the Sites, reproduce documentation excerpts for the purpose of using or evaluating Maree-DB, and share content for non-commercial purposes, provided you retain all copyright notices and attribution. You may not reproduce entire pages, mirror the Sites, or use content for commercial purposes without written permission.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tasmania, Australia. If you are an EU or UK consumer, mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction may also apply and are not affected by this clause.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Sites or the software after notice of a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, unless the change adversely affects an existing paid licence — in which case the prior terms continue to apply for that licence's current term.
